Against all odds the garden lives

Most of the yard is covered with dirt, construction material, or heavy equipment. But the portion that isn't has benefitted greatly from plenty of rain and moderate temperatures. It drives John crazy, but we are letting the garden go entirely. No weeding, no deadheading, no cutting back. Just letting it go until the construction is over. It helps that we aren't living on site.

Before we moved out in January, I moved all of the pots off of the terrace and put them in what I call the back forty.
They were all pretty heavy so I pretty much plopped them wherever. The effect now that they are all green and growing is really quite nice. Hard to believe those pansies survived our cold winter.
